It started with a swipe on Hinge…
Well actually, it started with a photo of a salmon dish.
I had posted a picture of this really good salmon meal on Hinge, and somehow Eddie used that as his opening line. Out of all the things he could’ve commented on, it was the salmon that started our story — which honestly feels very on brand for us.
What started as a simple comment quickly turned into real conversations, nonstop laughs, and getting to know each other in a way that felt natural from the very beginning.
Two weeks later, Eddie came to Dallas to take me on our first date. And from that moment, things just clicked. There was no pretending, no pressure — just two people genuinely enjoying each other’s company and realizing there might be something special here.
Three weeks later, I booked a trip to Fishkill for our next date, and somewhere between the flights, FaceTimes, and all the miles in between, we started building something real.
What I love most about Eddie is how intentional he is. The way he shows up, the way he cares, and the way he somehow makes me laugh no matter what’s going on. He’s become my safe place, my best friend, and the person I can’t imagine doing life without.
Who knew one salmon photo, one comment, and one swipe would turn into forever?

My story started by viewing Tierras profile on hinge. Not trying to be too forward, I decided to strike up a conversation on a photo of a meal she had prepared. I had an initial conversation with her and then didn’t hear back for a bit. Then on a random night, I received a message back and a video call out of the blue. To say that I was intrigued was an understatement.
2 weeks later, I hoped on a plane and flew to Dallas, Texas by myself to go meet Tierra. That weekend proved to be the turning point in my life. I had met a woman who was caring, thoughtful, beautiful, and fun to be around. When I left Dallas, I knew that this was the person I wanted to spend my time with and sure enough, Tierra came to New York about 3 weeks later and stayed for an extended trip. I knew that this was something that was real when Tierra came to a lacrosse game (not totally her thing) and stood in the rain with my family and friends.
From here it was just like a storybook when it comes to the time that we spent together, and there was no one I wanted to spend my time with more than Tierra. She has taught me to be strong yet kind, showed me what true unconditional love is, and continues to be my top support through all aspects of life.
The process of proposing to Tierra was one of my proudest moments. Between designing the ring with inspiration from her, making sure the ring was ready in time for our family trip to Cancun and planning a proposal I knew I had found the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. My proposal was something that was a bit out of my normal comfort zone, but I would do anything to make the moment special. Standing on stage, singing Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud in front of over 100 people is something I will never forget. The smile, joy and enthusiasm that Tierra had during that event was one of the greatest moments of my life.
Tierra, you are my everything, my best friend, the love of my life. Your compassion, sensitivity, kindness, love, joy and enthusiasm are what makes you special. I am truly lucky and honored to be starting life with you.
